Description
This is a really classic pattern of hook and the Wide Gape has accounted for a huge number of big carp captures over the many years since it was first launched. It is based on an old classic spade end hook pattern from the 1980s and 1990s which found favour with many anglers at the time – the Maruta Kinryu – but we have improved it and made it more user-friendly by switching the spade for an eye.
The Wide Gape features a slightly in-turned eye, with a short shank, heavily forged bend, and very sharp, beaked point. It can be used with a wide variety of different pop-up and bottom bait presentations, and once it goes in it tends to stay in. For those fishing in snaggy conditions in the UK or for overseas fishing there is also a Wide Gape X version. Or really extreme circumstances overseas – including when targeting huge Siamese carp or Mekong catfish in Thailand – there is an even heavier duty Wide Gape XX version.
For waters where barbed hooks are banned, the barbless Wide Gape B is perfect (barbed only in X and XX versions). All come in packs of ten, with the Wide Gape coming in sizes 10, 8, 6, 4, and 2; Wide Gape B in sizes 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, and 1; Wide Gape XX in sizes 8, 6, 4, 2, and 1; and Wide Gape X in size 10, 8, 6, 4, and 2.

- Collections will take place on the last working day before and the next working day after the bank holiday. (Saturdays are not included as working days).
- If the bank holiday falls on a Friday, the last collection will be on Thursday at 4:00 PM.
- If the bank holiday falls on a Monday, the last collection will be on the previous Friday (provided Friday is not also a bank holiday).

We will select the most suitable courier for your order based on the items purchased.

Orders placed before 2pm Monday – Thursday will be dispatched next working day delivery (Tuesday – Friday)
Orders placed Friday before 2pm will be dispatched for Monday delivery, unless Saturday option is selected then it will be dispatched for Saturday service.

If you miss the 1^st delivery attempt, DHL will automatically return the next workday. If you also missed our 2nd delivery attempt, you could collect your parcel at a DHL RegionHub this is held for 1 week before being returned to us.

FedEx
FedEx will attempt to deliver your package three times before returning it to the shipper.

Please note; if you have requested the courier to leave in ‘safe place’ we will accept no responsibility if the item goes missing.

Undelivered parcels
(incorrect address)
If an order is returned to us by the courier or Royal Mail due to an incorrect address provided at the checkout, there will be a fee of £10 deducted from the refund. This covers both the cost of sending the item and the return postage. We urge all customers to double-check their shipping details at the time of purchase to avoid any unnecessary charges.
(Not Collecting)
Royal Mail or the courier will make several attempts (refer to couriers above) to deliver your package before it is returned to us. If this item is returned to us there will be a fee of £10 deducted from the refund. This covers both the cost of sending the item and the return postage.
What if my order arrives damaged?
In the unlikely event that your order arrives in an unsuitable condition, please refuse parcel and ask courier to mark as damaged for return. Please inform us as soon as possible
Returns
If you are not 100% satisfied with your order and wish to return anything, please inform us and return this item within 30 days of delivery. Any items returned with no information could result in delay in processing – Postage costs are to be met by the customer.
We will gladly exchange unsuitable or unwanted products unused in original condition and packaging.
If in the unlikely event we have sent incorrect goods or the item develops a fault (within manufactural warranty), we will resolve the problem as fast as possible and refund any additional postal charges incurred by the customer.
If the item is out of warranty, we will always do your best to help resolve this where possible.
